Description: The homeowners fell in love with the location of the house, but there were several interior elements in this new build that felt out of place for a young family. We transformed the common spaces through a careful integration of tactile materials. The slats throughout the levels not only reinforce the wobbly cantilevered stairs but also helped dampen the acoustics of the lower level media room. The clients wanted a series of pendants that resemble a sea of clouds on the upper level. We worked with organic MushLume lights that were literally grown from Mycelium for a beautiful texture and color suspended from the ceiling. This project embraces the beauty of natural textures to redefine the living spaces in the home, making them much more warm and inviting.
